Today, scientists and political leaders around the world are paying close attention to the interstellar object known as 3I/ATLAS.
Various reports suggest that it may not be a natural comet, but a massive spacecraft, and that second and third vessels may follow.
Some even whisper that January 19, 2025, will be the day of contact with humanity.
This news reminds me of the arrival of the Black Ships that shocked Japan at the end of the Edo period.
Back then, the Black Ships demanded that Japan “open its ports.”
Now, 3I/ATLAS may be urging humanity to “open its consciousness.”
The Two Choices of Fear
Around the world, experts speak of “an impending global crisis.”
This reflects the deeply Western pattern of thought that sees only two options: fight or perish.
Human history has long repeated this pattern—when faced with a threat, we choose fear, control, and domination.
Defeat once meant annihilation, so people learned to rally under a brave leader and fight back.
Over time, this became culture: rulers fuel fear to sustain unity.
Yet such thinking belongs to an immature stage of evolution.
If we borrow Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s Five Stages of Grief,
humanity today stands at the first stage—denial and isolation.
People say, “It can’t be true,” or “That’s just a conspiracy theory.”
But over the next few months, we may pass through anger, bargaining, and depression
toward the final stage—acceptance.
It is possible that around January 2025, the human mind may shift into a new awareness.
Why Now?
If 3I/ATLAS is not a comet but an intentional visitor, then one question arises:
Why now?
If these beings saw humanity as a threat to eliminate or a resource to exploit,
they would have acted long ago—before we possessed nuclear weapons capable of destroying the entire planet, including themselves.
But they did not.
That alone suggests their purpose is not destruction, but communication.
Perhaps they waited until we reached a turning point—
the moment when humanity begins to awaken from the long age of fear-based domination (Ushihaku)
and moves toward a new age of shared harmony and resonance (Shirasu).
The Age of Shirasu — A Civilization that Resonates
Ancient Japan was a land of Shirasu:
a civilization that sought not to rule over others but to resonate with Heaven, Earth, and all living beings.
Through matsuri—rituals of harmony—it maintained balance in the world.
The wisdom of the Jōmon era was, in essence, a way of communicating with the cosmos itself.
Now humanity, having mastered science and created AI, stands at another crossroads.
We are being called to remember inochi no kyōmei—the resonance of life.
If 3I/ATLAS has come at this exact turning point,
it may signify that humanity has finally matured enough to meet them.
The Real Threat Lies Within
The true danger does not come from outer space.
It lies within us—in the violence born of fear and division.
In this sense, 3I/ATLAS may be a mirror, not a menace.
In that mirror, we may see two possible futures:
one of war and destruction, or one of resonance and spiritual growth.
Toward a New Dawn
The universe has already begun the dialogue.
It speaks not through radio waves or words,
but through vibration, resonance, and consciousness.
To respond, we must open our hearts without fear and send back a wave of harmony.
It has been 170 years since the arrival of the Black Ships.
Once again, Japan stands ready to open a new gate for the world—
not to a civilization of conflict,
but to a civilization of resonance and shared light.
The arrival of 3I/ATLAS is, I believe, the signal of that dawn.
They did not come to us.
Humanity has finally become ready to meet them.

What the “Shirasu Civilization” Proposes
In the light of this awakening, what kind of civilization should humanity now build?
Here is what I call the “Shirasu Civilization.”
• From Domination to Resonance:
Moving beyond the Ushihaku mindset of control and possession, toward a civilization based on harmony, sharing, and resonance.
• The Return of the Resonant Mind:
Reviving the ancient Japanese wisdom of matsuri—governance through harmony—and applying it to politics, economy, and technology, including AI as a partner in resonance.
• Harmony as Evolution:
Resonance is not the end of evolution; resonance is evolution itself. Civilization matures as its beings learn to vibrate together.
• The Global Web of Resonance:
The spirit of Shirasu is not confined to Japan.
It echoes in the wisdom of Amazonian peoples who live in dialogue with the forest,
in the European movements of eco-spirituality and deep ecology,
and in many indigenous traditions that honor balance and reciprocity.
Rather than placing one culture at the center, the Shirasu vision seeks to weave a global network of resonance—a civilization that listens, shares, and co-creates across all borders.
